It’s Spring I Think?!

Published on 03/20/08

Today is the official start of spring. Spring has a little different twist to it in Montana. We celebrated by having sunshine and snow. The snow was beautiful today. It was big slushy flakes. It all melted but was very pretty.

We have had the flu at our house so keeping up with the website went to the bottom of the list. I am starting to work on it again this week. I enjoy improving it.

Sunday begins our missions conference at church. We are looking forward to the many activities. It will be lots of fun. Tonight the Farlows (missionaries to Brazil and very good friends) arrived at our house. The kids have been so excited to have their “cousins” come.

Melt Down

In the last few days we have seen the temperature rise. With the rise of the temp brings the shrinking of snow piles around our home. This is kind of a dirty time of the year. I am ready for spring though. The sun is out more and up earlier. Today the street light turned off before Tk’s bus came to get her. In the mornings it is very slick around here. All the melting leaves puddles and wet sidewalks that freeze over night. While TK and I waited for her bus this morning we “skated” on our driveway.

Malaria in the Winter!!!!

Published on 02/07/08

This last week I was diagnosed with having Malaria. It looks like I picked it up in the Philippines thirteen years ago but was never diagnosed with it. Now that I live in wintery Montana we know. I started the treatment today. It brings back nasty memories of this stuff we had to take on Sunday nights to prevent Malaria. This med does the same thing only I take it two times a day every day for ten days. I then have a ten day break before I take it again for ten days. I could possible have to do more. I am also on something to help my liver heal. I am thankful for some answers and a plan to get well.
